This article will explain the use of seconds in your serving lines.
There are two ways to allow seconds in your serving lines. One way is to use the regular reimbursable meal button. This would allow students to purchase an entire second meal. This second meal would be recognized by the software as being non-reimbursable. To charge seconds this way, first be sure to check the price of the meal item you are using. Go to the EduTrak Software District Site>Items>Menu Items.
Select the menu item by clicking on the Item ID.
The amount you wish to charge for a complete second meal should be in the "Additional Price."
Click "Submit" to save your changes.
When the cashier is in the serving line, the reimbursable meal button can be used to charge a complete second meal. The following example shows two reimbursable meals charged to the student:
Note: the optional "Has Eaten" button will appear, if allowed in your settings, the second time the student comes through the serving line:
This setting can be found in the LCS1000>Lines>Line Settings.
Select the line by clicking on it.
Click on Line Settings.
Options here allow a "Has Eaten" message to show up when a student returns to purchase a second meal or if a student returns after any previous purchase.
Be sure to save your changes but clicking the "Save" button.
Any seconds sold will show up on the Daily Summary Report as ADDL meals as shown in this example. They will NOT be counted as reimbursable meals:
The second way to allow seconds to be sold in your serving line is by using an alacarte meal item option. This is generally used when you sell a second entree, but not the complete meal. To use this option, you will need a menu item set up as a second entree. Go to the EduTrak Software District Site>Items tab>Menu Items.
Click on "Add New Menu Item."
Create the item. Use the Item Type (C).
Click the "Submit" button.
Next, add the new menu item to your menu item grid. Instructions for this can be found in this article:

Then, when in the serving line, use the Second Entree button to charge seconds:
These purchases will appear on your reports as a la carte purchases
